Phillip Reynolds

Pam Golding Properties, North Durban

Why did you decide to pursue a career in property?

My wife has been in property for years, and I have always been interested in the property market. I was involved in industrial warehousing and construction for a few years prior to joining Pam Golding Properties, and have been in sales since I left University, so moving into a sales role at Pam Golding Properties seemed like a good idea! Fortunately, it seems to have worked out pretty well.

What are the most enjoyable and the most challenging aspects of the job? How much time do you have?

Dealing with people – it’s both enjoyable and challenging. Residential property is a highly emotive game, and hence it can be stressful for a lot of people. Managing the stress is part of the job.

What characteristics, in your opinion, make for a great estate agent/broker and why?

A sense of humour is vital. Patience and tolerance are also important and honesty is a must. But at the end of the day, nothing beats hard work, commitment and dedication. There is no time for procrastination in this business.

What are some of your career goals?

To keep my wife happy by selling lots of houses! (She happens to be my principal!). Happy wife – happy life!
