Multinet and its history in the industry

Established over 22 years ago, MultiNET has processed R165 billion in home loans, ensured the approval of over 145 000 loans, and assisted over 250 000 people with their home loan applications.

The company has partnerships with a myriad of estate agents and other key industry organisations. MultiNET drives a simplified, proven and effective solution referred to as ‘The Power of One’. The Power of One concept allows for MultiNET Home Loans to provide comparative financing and advice to consumers who are purchasing property. The Power of One platform is where smart people connect with smart technology to deliver results efficiently, time and again.

Leadership and development are key

One of the strengths of MultiNET is the ability to stay ahead of the curve, both in the origination space as well as within the leadership and development of its own people.

“We have a highly skilled team of directors,” explains chief executive officer, Shaun Rademeyer, “which is key to the services we offer. On our board we have Carl Pretorius, Devin Smyth, myself, Nadia Isaacs and Vuyiswa Mutshekwane.

“One of our prerogatives in 2020 is to work toward more equitable representation in the industry and we are proud to have Nadia and Vuyiswa join us on the board – their years in the industry will assist us in providing an even better service to all within the South African context.”

Partnerships bring new perspective

Another feather in MultiNET’s cap is their ability to engage with industry leaders, and to sign them on as partners, allowing for a whole new perspective to be gained. MultiNET has recently welcomed Emmanuel Testa as well as MJ Dafel, a long-standing partner of the group.

Emmanuel Testa, known as Manny, is billed as a visionary with proven analytical expertise, business insight and strategic development competency. He is Managing Director of Blueprint Realty and Matrix Auctions and has a natural ability to forge strong relationships with clients at all levels and across all cultures as well as lead and motivate teams to consistently deliver strong results, regardless of pressure.

MJ Dafel and Property.Co.ZA brings with them the knowledge and skills needed to create disruption, having already done so with the establishment of the company. Dafel’s skills include that of being able to recognise and capitalise on opportunities.

Bringing transformation to the fore

As stated, representation is a strategic imperative for MultiNET, and one that the company has embraced with the appointments of Nadia Isaacs and Vuyiswa Mutshekwane.

“There is established research that demonstrates that diversity in the workplace leads to higher corporate performance,” adds Rademeyer, “MultiNET Home loans has started on a process of transformation that will result in normative legitimacy of their transformation. We’re not just following a “tick-box approach” but are committed to seeing successful women in leadership.

“In support of our gender transformation goals, Isaacs was appointed as Operations Director, one of few women of color appointed at executive level in the bond origination space.” Originally from Newclare, Johannesburg, she started her career in 1994 in the Home Loans division of First National Bank. Nadia’s dedication and work ethic has seen her win a number of awards for customer service. “She is a self-starter and her years of experience in Home Loan Origination makes her the perfect candidate to lead the growth strategy for MultiNet Home Loans,” adds Rademeyer.

Vuyiswa Mutshekwane is the chief executive officer at the South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners (SAIBPP), a position she has held since 2015. She was also recently elected as the first chairperson of the newly established National Property Practitioners Council and also serves as a non-executive director on the board of Fortress Reit Ltd, is a member of the council and technical committee of the Property Sector Charter Council as well as the Land Reform & Food Security Committee.
