Whether it’s helping her clients navigate the home loan process, being a foster mother, or competing in the prestigious Mrs South Africa 2023 pageant, Anita Momberg approaches every situation and challenge with the desire to make things better.

Hailing from the Western Cape suburb of Kuils River, Anita started her career as a short-term insurance broker before making the leap to bond origination in 2001. “At the time, bond origination was quite a new concept in South Africa, and I was intrigued by the opportunities it presented. The model was similar to insurance broking – the originator is essentially the middleman between the bank and the client – and the idea of sourcing the best deal on behalf of the client at no charge was a game changer.” In 2003, Anita established her bond origination business, Big Time Bond.

Since then, Anita has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience in the bond origination and residential and commercial property arenas. And she profoundly understands all aspects of the property buying process. In fact 2019, after qualifying as a Master Property Practitioner, she opened her own real estate brokerage, Rock Properties. With her bond origination and real estate teams working synergistically, she can offer her clients a holistic turnkey service.

One of the secrets to Anita’s success? She’s passionate about effective client communication. “Entering into a home loan agreement is the biggest commitment that a client will ever make, and it’s imperative that they are well informed, not only about the product but the process,” she says.

Of course, success can be measured in many different ways – and for Anita, true success means living a life that brings joy to others. “I love what I do, and I’m grateful to be able to assist people in achieving their goals, whether it be helping a client buy the property of their dreams or motivating my team at Rock Properties to excel in real estate. Ultimately, I value making a positive impact in people’s lives.”

On a more personal level, this value-focused outlook prompted Anita to take on a significant life responsibility – becoming a foster mom. “My passion is championing the rights of vulnerable children and ensuring that each child receives the love, support, and stability they deserve,” she explains. This passion ultimately led Anita to participate in the 2023 Mrs South Africa pageant, a high-profile platform that has allowed her to highlight the foster care cause so close to her heart.

According to Anita, this once-in-a-lifetime experience allows participants to become better versions of themselves and highlight social issues that must be addressed. “I have met incredible women on my Mrs South Africa journey, and I believe there is so much opportunity to create a positive social impact when women collaborate,” she says.

The pageant has also enabled her to shine a spotlight on Kin Culture, an organisation which promotes foster care and assists welfare with foster placements. “I’m an ambassador for Kin Culture, and I firmly believe that these types of organisations can bring on systematic change, raise awareness, and provide resources to empower foster families and improve the foster care system.”

Whether she wins the coveted Mrs South Africa crown or not, Anita has a clear vision for her future: “I want to continue to inspire children and advocate to support charitable causes as I believe our individual efforts can still make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. Our footprints are the blueprint for the next generation!”

MortgageMax is incredibly proud to have a longstanding association with this remarkable and inspiring business owner and mother – having recently celebrated our 10-year partnership with Big Time Bond – and we wish Anita every success as she continues her Mrs South Africa pageant journey!

The Mrs SA crowning ceremony is happening on Friday, the 17th of November.
