REIS 2026

Advertorial

The real estate agent sits at the centre of one of the most significant shifts the industry has seen in decades. Rising consumer expectations, economic pressure, digital disruption and global volatility are redefining what it means to be successful in property. Today’s agent can no longer rely on traditional methods alone, but resilience, adaptability and strategic foresight have become essential capabilities for success.

This is the driving force behind this year’s Real Estate Industry Summit (REIS), hosted by Private Property in partnership with Absa Home Loans, taking place in Cape Town on 19 March. Under the theme Resilient by Design: Strong Foundations for Tomorrow, the summit will equip property practitioners with the economic insight, technology frameworks, leadership strategies and practical tools needed to build durable, future-fit businesses.

The tone is set from the start of REIS with Master of Ceremonies, Dr Craig Wing. His credentials encompass acknowledgement as: a global futurist, the founder of the AI-driven platform WhatTheForesight, an author, a government advisor, and a former Google X executive. Dr. Wing’s insights were described as exciting and transformative for attendees at last year’s REIS in Johannesburg.

Among the notable speakers this March is John Loos, who has retired as senior property economist at FNB, where he established himself as a catalyst in SA’s residential and commercial property landscape over decades. He intends to equip the audience with practical economic lens so that property practitioners can plan, price, invest, and position their businesses with intention, also looking at economic risks, trends and opportunities.

Musa Kalenga similarly carries enormous credibility as a technologist, marketer, brand communicator, entrepreneur, and author. His keynote address will provide deep insights into the technology and tools that build a data-resilient business. Kalenga’s tips on the practical, real-world use of data and how data can drive better decisions, improved performance, and more resilient business models, all of which will unlock true agility and move real estate businesses beyond their vulnerability to disruption.

The Future Agent panel will be positioned as a standout highlight of the summit, including respected agents. This forward-focused discussion will unpack what it takes to stay relevant in a fast-changing market from evolving the value proposition to redesigning the customer journey and embracing technology with intent. Practical, real-world insights will show how leading agents are future-proofing their businesses and positioning themselves as trusted advisors.

Separately, Theo Mseka, CEO and Managing Director of Immowelt AG, will share global perspectives from resilient property markets around the world. Drawing on more than two decades in digital real estate, he will unpack the systems, strategies and mindset shifts shaping high-performing markets and what local practitioners must adopt to become true agents of the future.

In an industry where reliability, trust, and responsiveness are proven as a source of market advantage, REIS 2026’s Resilient by Design presentations will further elevate your strategic agility and secure customer confidence for generations to come.
