Advertorial
As finance executive for secured lending, Candice Robinson carries the responsibility of overseeing financial delivery for both Nedbank Home Loans and MFC. Respected for her calm presence and unwavering reliability, Candice has established herself as the business’s trusted anchor in all things finance. She demystifies complex technical issues with ease and is known for the strong, meaningful relationships she builds across the organisation.
Her journey began with a BCom Accounting (Honours) at the University of Johannesburg, followed by articles at Deloitte, where she developed the technical precision and professional discipline that underpin her leadership today.
Candice joined Nedbank in 2014, spending nearly 5 years at MFC, where she supported the Head of Finance in revenue and VAT optimisation initiatives. Her move to Home Loans in 2019 opened the door to the complex world of securitisation and expanded her product expertise. By 2021, her capabilities enabled her to manage broader functions within the Home Loans finance team, where she played a central role in streamlining processes and strengthening operational efficiencies. Under the guidance of Richard Burnham, Candice refined a leadership style defined by empathy, simplicity and quiet confidence.
In 2023, she briefly stepped away to welcome her third child. On her return, she was entrusted with one of her most pivotal roles yet, Head of Finance for Secured Lending, a position in which she excelled, before her promotion to Finance Executive for Secured Lending. The role taps into every aspect of her professional DNA: her technical depth, her steady leadership and her ability to bring clarity to complexity. Today, she leads a larger team whose passion and dedication she deeply values and relies on.
‘My success is built on the people who support me.’
Candice is often celebrated as the woman who does it all and somehow makes it look effortless. She balances executive responsibility with being a mom of three, a wife, a daughter and a friend, carrying each commitment with grace.
Her life is a symphony of movement, from presenting to executives one moment to racing off to catch the last overs of a cricket match, taking her daughter to netball practice, baking for a school fundraiser or stepping into her role as class mom at their school. With three children aged 10, 8 and 2, her world is filled with what she fondly calls happy chaos, the kind she wouldn’t trade for anything.
Beyond home and work, Candice also invests in her community. She previously spearheaded her Residents’ Association’s communications portfolio, managing the reporting of service-delivery-related issues, liaising with the ward councillor, overseeing security matters, supporting the adoption and upkeep of a nearby park and running the neighbourhood WhatsApp group. Her involvement made her a familiar, trusted figure in the community, so much so that she is often encouraged to consider running as a ward councillor herself.
And through it all, she is supported by what she calls her village. Her husband of 15 years, an avid cyclist with his own demanding career, along with her parents and close friends, are all a critical part of the support structure surrounding her. Together, they keep the colour-coded Excel schedule of school runs, extra lessons and sports practices running smoothly. Her parents often step in on the side of the sports field, ensuring that her children always have a familiar face cheering them on and reminding her that she never carries the load alone.
She recalls a moment that perfectly captures the spirit of her support network, when she received a photo from her long-time friend of her daughter smiling shyly, tooth in hand, with the message, ‘Quickly sorted out Kayleigh’s loose tooth.’ It is these simple gestures, the pictures, the videos, the hugs when she’s not there, that are powerful reminders of the people who help hold her world together and step in when she needs them.
Candice Robinson is more than a finance executive; she is the quiet strength behind Secured Lending’s finance team – a leader who brings heart, balance and technical mastery together in a way that elevates both people and performance. Her journey is a testament to resilience, dedication and the power of leading with both intelligence and humanity at work, at home and in the communities she touches.
