Femme Property Alliance will celebrate its first anniversary during Women’s Month with Beyond the Blueprint: A Women in Property Leadership Day, taking place on Friday, 28 August 2026, at the Absa Regional Head Office in Century City, Cape Town.
The event will bring together women across the property, finance, education, legal, technology and leadership sectors for a full-day leadership experience focused on access, visibility, professional development, mentorship and industry participation.
Femme Property Alliance was founded as a nonprofit platform to unite, empower and uplift women across the South African property sector. Its motto, Uniting Women. Building Opportunities, reflects the organisation’s mission to create spaces where women can connect, collaborate, learn and contribute to the conversations shaping the future of the industry.
The theme Beyond the Blueprint speaks to the need for women to move beyond traditional roles and into spaces of leadership, ownership, influence and decision-making.
“Women are not absent from the property sector; women are already building it,” says Anita Momberg, Founder of Femme Property Alliance. “They are active as property owners, practitioners, bond originators, conveyancers, educators, administrators, entrepreneurs and leaders. The challenge is that this participation is not always reflected in the rooms where decisions are made. Femme Property Alliance exists to help change that.”
The confirmed speaker line-up includes some of the most respected female voices in the industry:
- Nondumiso Ncapai, Managing Executive: Mortgage Business at Absa, will anchor the day as keynote speaker, speaking into women, wealth and leadership in property.
- Yael Geffen will contribute to a Legacy Leadership moment, focused on mentorship, visibility and opening doors for the next generation.
- Michelle Dickens will speak into data, technology and future-ready property businesses.
- Leigh-Ann Revill, CEO of Chartall Business College, will focus on education, qualifications and professional development pathways.
- Sunel Beeselaar, attorney, conveyancer, mediator and familiar legal voice on Bok Radio, will bring a practical legal perspective to the programme.
A meaningful part of the day will be the announcement of the Yael Geffen Leadership Scholarship, powered by Chartall Business College, supporting NQF4 and NQF5 qualifications and mentorship for women entering or growing within the property sector.
The event also comes at a time when industry data continues to highlight the importance of representation. Recent membership data shared with Femme Property Alliance by MORCSA indicates that approximately 73% of its members are female, yet female representation at the board level currently stands at 2 out of 10 representatives. This is not raised as criticism, but as a broader reflection of an industry reality: women are deeply present in property and mortgage origination, but their participation is not always proportionately reflected in leadership and influence structures.
Over the past year, Femme Property Alliance has hosted and supported leadership conversations, rental-focused webinars, AI and future-skills discussions, Lean In sessions and industry collaborations across South Africa. The first anniversary event marks the next chapter of that journey.
“Year One was the foundation. Year Two is where we build,” says Momberg. “This event is about moving beyond inspiration and into action, creating access, education, mentorship and visibility for women in property.”
