Global micro-living trend hits Woodstock

Cape Town will soon have its first micro-living apartments, following a trend in cities such as Berlin, London, New York, Barcelona and Paris.

The 133 micro-units will range from 21m2 studios to 75m2 two-bedroom units. All apartments at 1 on Albert in Woodstock will feature top-end appliances, smart TVs and high-speed Internet connectivity. Units are priced from R799,000 to R945,000, including transfer duty.

Construction is set to begin in February 2018. Dogon Group Properties MD Rob Stefanutto says the development will feature communal recreational spaces, shops, a food court, a laundromat and a heated swimming pool.

Award-winning firm Louis Karol Architects designed the development. Leading hotel room designer Grant Gillis of Delta Interiors designed the building interiors.
