Join Mr Steven Ngubeni, Chairperson of the PPRA; Mr Kenny Parcell, President of the NAR; Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, Chairperson of the NPPC; and other key industry leaders for a morning dedicated to the future of real estate through a series of sessions and panel discussions. Notably, the keynote address by Parcell titled “A changing industry, the relevance of the estate agent”, and the session hosted by Alina Aeby, NAR Global Coordinator for Eastern Europe/Middle East/Africa, focusing on proptech trends.
Getting to grips with the latest proptech
Aeby will be exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and blockchain are already influencing, and are likely to shape, the future of the property industry. More specifically, property practitioners and industry partners are invited to join her in examining how technology is influencing lead generation, marketing, property inspections and evaluations, and transaction management.
Alina is a realtor based in San Francisco, with a vast global network, experience, and knowledge. Living in one of the most creative and innovative places in the world, she is adept at the latest proptech solutions, as her clientele is located all around the globe.
Being involved in multiple capacities in different professional organisations at local, national, and international levels, Alina has a broad view of the real estate industry and is often invited as a speaker on international topics at conferences, industry panels, television, podcasts, and radio.
Alina is not only well versed in proptech, but understands it from an estate agent’s perspective, being ranked within the top 1.5% of 1.6 million realtors in America by sales volume in 2021.
Meet the other speakers
Kenny Parcell (ABR®, AHWD, CRS, C2EX), a REALTOR® from Spanish Fork, Utah, is the 2023 President of the National Association of REALTORS®. Kenny is broker/owner of Equity Real Estate Utah and has sold more than 3,200 homes during his 25-year career.
At the national level, Kenny served as NAR’s Vice President of Government Affairs in 2018. He was the REALTOR® Party RPAC Fundraising Liaison in 2017, Regional Vice President for Region 11 (Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming) in 2016, and REALTOR® Party Director in 2015. He was also the REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Liaison in 2013 and the Information, Communication, and Business Development Liaison in 2012.
REALTOR® Magazine named him as one of its 30 Under 30 in 2001.
Ahmed Badat is NAR Global Ambassador to South Africa, Ghana, and Nigeria. Badat was named National Association of Realtors® 2021 Global Ambassador of the Year and Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors® (NICAR) 2022 Realtor of the Year. He served as NAR Director in 2021 and from 2017–2019, and as Mainstreet Organization of Realtors® President in 2009. He was also named Realtor of the Year in 2006, 2012, 2014, and 2015.
Badat has been in real estate since 1986 and has worked for AMB Realty for more than 25 years. He specialises in global real estate and is a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS). He served as the NAR President’s Liaison to South Africa in 2010 and to the United Arab Emirates in 2015.
Holly Becker is Manager of Global Alliances and Business Development. She manages and oversees NAR’s bilateral and multilateral relations, with the goal of strengthening professional associations and networks while building business opportunities for REALTORS®.
Stephan Potgieter is the Asset Ownership Executive at Nedbank, responsible for overseeing Home Loans and Vehicle Asset Finance, coupled with insurance cross-sell.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) after achieving B.Com Accounting, B.Com Accounting Honours, and M.Com Financial Management degrees, all cum laude, at the University of Johannesburg. He also achieved an HDIP in Banking cum laude and completed the GIBS and INSEAD International Executive Development Programmes.
With 25 years of financial services experience in South Africa and abroad, he will draw on his wealth of knowledge when presenting “Home Ownership Market Insight – A Nedbank Perspective”.
