Femme Property Alliance launches in Johannesburg with ABSA partnership

Event

Following a successful Cape Town launch, Femme Property Alliance (FPA) will officially expand to Johannesburg with a high-impact leadership event aimed at uniting and advancing women in the property sector, not as spectators, but as decision-makers, leaders and wealth creators.

The Femme Property Alliance Johannesburg Launch takes place on Friday, 13 February 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00, at the ABSA | Norton Rose Fulbright Auditorium in Sandton, in partnership with ABSA Home Loans.

Founded by property professional and entrepreneur Anita Momberg, Femme Property Alliance is a platform built to ensure women in property have access to meaningful industry networks, practical learning, and real opportunities to grow their careers and businesses.

“Women do not belong in the background of industries they build,” says Momberg. “From homeownership to entrepreneurship, women are driving real economic activity. This platform exists to connect women, elevate their voices, and open doors. The organisation is committed to grow its membership offering through knowledge, networks and opportunity.”

What to expect?

The Johannesburg launch will feature a dynamic programme of individual speaker spotlights followed by a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A, bringing together influential leaders across property, finance, compliance, and education.

The confirmed speaker line-up includes:

  • Nondumiso Ncapai (Executive, ABSA Home Loans),
  • Thato Ramaili (CEO, PPRA),
  • Michelle Dickens (CEO, PayProp),
  • Margaret Hirsch (Co-Founder, Hirsch’s and international realtor),
  • Yael Geffen (CEO, Sotheby’s International Realty South Africa),
  • Tshego Galae (Mrs World 2025),
  • Leigh-Ann Revil (CEO, Chartall Business College)

A major highlight of the event is an education-focused empowerment opportunity sponsored by Chartall Business College, with bursaries for NQF Level 4 and NQF Level 5 Real Estate Qualifications available to eligible applicants. Members will receive guidance on the bursary application process and next steps as part of the programme.

The event also aligns with a growing national reality: women are playing a dominant role in residential property ownership in South Africa.

South Africa has approximately 46,000 registered property practitioners (PPRA). Within the PPRA’s latest annual reporting, women account for the majority share of practitioners reflected in the Authority’s demographic dataset — reinforcing what we already see in practice: women are not only active in the sector, they are driving it.

This aligns with Lightstone data indicating that women account for 69% of residential property ownership in South Africa (sole or joint ownership), underscoring the importance of building an industry where women are equally represented not only as practitioners, but also in leadership and decision-making roles, reinforcing the importance of ensuring women are equally represented in leadership, professional practice and decision-making across the property value chain.

While MORCSA membership demographics are not publicly available, broader sector indicators show that women are driving property ownership and participation, and Femme Property Alliance is building a leadership network to reflect that reality.
