Private Property has announced that effective 1 May 2024, current COO Theo Mseka will take up the role of CEO for the online property marketplace. Mseka joined the business 18 months ago and has, since then, focused his efforts on creating a strong foundation on which to continue building the business and delivering unparalleled value to the South African real estate ecosystem.
“I am thrilled to be stepping into this role next month and feel honoured to be leading a dedicated team with the people, knowledge and skills needed to propel Private Property to new heights,” says Mseka. “I also look forward to collaborating even more closely with our established client base of market-leading agents and developers so that we can keep delivering innovative products and solutions that enhance their businesses and drive them forward. As CEO, one of my key focus areas will be growing this base to include all agents in South Africa so that they too can benefit from the added value we bring to our clients.”
Outgoing Private Property CEO Charl Bruyns is confident that with Mseka at the helm, the business is perfectly positioned to achieve unprecedented levels of success. “Theo is an excellent leader with the vision and strategic insight to realise our aim of seeing the platform grow into a serious competitor for the benefit of those on the property journey as well as the South African property industry as a whole,” he comments. “I look forward to seeing what the next chapter holds for the business with Theo leading the way,” he adds.
Mseka has a wealth of international experience and is clear that he intends to bring a global perspective to his new role as he sets his sights on imparting a fresh energy to every aspect of the business – from product development and technology to marketing and sales initiatives. Some of his most notable achievements over the past 22 years include steering the property classifieds market leader in Turkey and enriching the top internet destinations in South Africa, Russia, the Philippines, and 14 other countries. He also has a proven track record of innovating and enabling property classified businesses, and the knowledge and skills he has acquired will certainly strengthen Private Property as it moves forward.
Something else Mseka is clear about is that Private Property is not simply about transactions. Instead, he is quick to point out that in line with the platform’s vision, which is to connect people at the heart of property, the team is committed to creating a highly engaging experience that enriches the property journey by connecting the various stakeholders and making it easy, informative, accessible and above all, enjoyable for everyone on it.
“Our aim is to create innovative products and craft experiences that benefit and provide value to every part of the property journey well beyond the transaction. We have big plans ahead for the business and some exciting changes coming soon that will impact everyone who connects with us – watch this space! I am hugely confident in the ability of our talented team to deliver results for our business and with their support, and the trust of our industry partners and customers, I believe that Private Property is on course for immense success that will impact the entire property industry. I look forward to a future brimming with opportunity, innovation, and growth for us all,” he concludes.
