The NPPC today announced that the board of directors has accepted the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Joseph Sakoneka, effective 28 February 2023, which also marks the end of his contract.

Having joined the National Property Practitioners Council on a contract basis on 1 September 2021, Mr Sakoneka has been instrumental in steering the organisation from inception through some exceptionally difficult times during the Covid-19 pandemic and the implementation of the Property Practitioners Act which resulted in wide spread industry disruption.

Mr Sakoneka is leaving the organisation to pursue his studies and other career opportunities having just been accepted in to the prestigious global CIMA CFO Programme.

“It has been an honour and privilege to serve NPPC, its member organisations and the real estate sector at large.  I would particularly like to acknowledge the professionalism, expertise and support provided to by the Board and look forward to seeing the Council reach even greater heights in the future,” said Sakoneka.

The Board extends its deep gratitude to Mr Sakoneka for his exceptional service and wishes him well with both his studies and future endeavours.

NPPC Chairperson, Ms Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, will take over the day-to-day management of the organisation until a new CEO is appointed.
